Call for Nominations – NENA 2021 AGM

NOMINATIONS FOR NENA ELECTED POSITIONS - AN INVITATION TO ALL MEMBERS

 

SAVE THE DATE - NENA AGM - Tuesday 30th November at 1PM AEDT (12NOON AEST).

 

INVITATION:

NENA Members are invited to nominate for roles which will become available at our November AGM, on the Board of Directors, Strategic Development Group and Participatory Budget Group.

All nominations must be received by NENA by 5pm AEST, Monday 1st November 2021

 

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

Up to six positions on the Board of Directors, up to four positions on the Strategic Development Group, and up to four positions on the Participatory Budget Group are open.

NENA Board of Directors

The role of a NENA Director is to oversee the strategic, financial and governance systems of NENA. The Board makes decisions about planning, resources, goals and activities of the organisation as well as working closely with the Strategic Development Group and Participatory Budget Group. If you become a Director, you will be required to attend 6-8 (1 hour) Board meetings annually and actively contribute to the coordination, governance and management of the cooperative and network. This is a voluntary role with no remuneration.

NENA Strategic Development Group (SDG)

This is an ideal role for people interested in the innovative and strategic potential for building new or wellbeing economy initiatives in a coordinated and collaborative way.

The SDG works cooperatively with the Board to prepare Strategic Plans for the co-operative and provide general advice to the Board about the co-operative’s strategic priorities. Members of the SDG are required to work together to engage members in continuing to developing a National Civil Society Strategy for the New Economy, in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Participatory Budget Group.

If you take up a role on this group you will attend 6-8 zoom meetings a year, assist with hosting several webinars each year (to provide updates about strategic developments) and actively engage with NENA members to develop strategic plans and goals for the organisation. This is a voluntary role with no remuneration.

NENA Participatory Budget Group (PBG)

This role would suit people interested in new models of participatory budget development for a new or wellbeing economy who want to get some hands-on experience in developing and implementing these systems within a growing network. Anyone with experience or wanting to develop experience in fundraising and finance would be warmly welcomed.

The PBG works cooperatively with the Board to ensure funding is raised from sources that align with the purpose and primary activities of the cooperative, and provides general advice to the Board about core funding priorities for the annual budget for the cooperative, including funding to support the development of the Geographic and Sectoral Hubs. The PBG also supports the process of recruiting Anchor organisations to lead specific Hubs, including the reporting and financial processes between the Anchors and NENA.

If you take up a role on this group you will attend 6-8 zoom meetings per year and help to convene meetings of all interested NENA members several times each year via zoom to discuss NENA budget and fundraising issues. This is a voluntary role with no remuneration.
