Celebrating the Success of the NENA 2025 Conference: Pathways to a Thriving World

The New Economy Network Australia (NENA) is delighted to celebrate the resounding success of its biennial 2025 conference, held from 10–12 October at the Broadbeach Cultural Centre on the Gold Coast. This year’s conference, themed “Pathways to a Thriving World”, brought together participants committed to advancing social justice, ecological sustainability, and economic equity.

Across three days of dynamic presentations, engaging workshops, and meaningful networking opportunities, attendees explored the urgent challenges facing contemporary Australia. From escalating climate impacts, including floods, droughts, and coastal degradation, to the ongoing biodiversity crisis and structural inequities affecting First Nations Peoples, the conference provided a comprehensive space to interrogate the complex and interconnected crises of our time.

Sunday 12 October was devoted to hands-on workshops, providing participants with practical tools to envision and enact transformative change. Attendees engaged in vision mapping exercises, co-created actionable strategies, and collaborated with presenters and fellow participants to contribute tangibly to building a regenerative, inclusive economy. These sessions highlighted NENA’s commitment to fostering not only dialogue but practical, measurable impact in communities across Australia.

The 2025 conference featured a remarkable line-up of speakers, representing diverse sectors and perspectives, all united by a shared commitment to social and ecological justice. Their contributions sparked critical conversations and inspired attendees to implement actionable solutions in their own spheres of influence.

NENA extends its sincere gratitude to all participants, speakers, volunteers, and partners whose energy and insight made the 2025 conference a truly transformative experience. The engagement, collaboration, and dedication displayed throughout the event exemplify the spirit of a network committed to fostering systemic change and a fairer, more sustainable economy.
