webinars 2023

The current dominant economic system, built on extractivism and hyper-consumerism, is a key driver of climate breakdown, environmental deterioriation and social injustice. The New Economy Network Australia (NENA) is a network of people and organisations working to transform the current economic system and create new approaches to economies that support people and planet. In this webinar, our speakers will explore the interaction between neoclassical economics, consumerism and population growth, and explore the many positive approaches that steady state economics, degrowth and reducing material consumption can offer.

The webinar will be moderated by Dr Michelle Maloney, Co-founder and Director of the New Economy Network Australia.
