Systems Change

The NENA Systems Change Hub brings together members who are committed to understanding and transforming the interconnected systems that shape Australia’s social, ecological and economic futures. Our work recognises that the challenges facing Australia—including climate disruption, biodiversity loss, economic inequality, governance failures and social fragmentation—are systemic in nature and cannot be addressed in isolation.

The Hub provides a collaborative space for exploring frameworks such as systems thinking, transition design, regenerative economics, ecological economics, Indigenous governance, complexity theory and futures practice. Through meetings, workshops and cross-hub initiatives, we support NENA members to strengthen their capacity for systems leadership and to design interventions that contribute to long-term structural change.

Working within NENA’s cooperative ecosystem, we also help identify opportunities for greater alignment and coordination across hubs, anchor organisations and governance groups. Our work contributes directly to NENA’s strategic goals by fostering deeper understanding of systemic issues, developing shared tools and narratives, and supporting applied projects that advance the transition to a socially just and ecologically healthy new economy.

Join Us

All NENA members are welcome to participate—whether they are researchers, practitioners, community organisers, industry professionals, or individuals seeking to develop their skills in systems change practice. Together, we aim to strengthen collective capacity across the network and accelerate pathways to a thriving future.
