NENA’s Hubs are the heart of our cooperative action — the spaces where members come together to build the new economy within their communities, sectors, and regions. Hubs provide structured opportunities for collaboration, education, and advocacy across key thematic areas such as food systems, finance, housing, energy, democratic governance, and place-based development. Each Hub brings together individuals and organisations with shared interests, creating pathways for collective learning, coordinated action, and greater impact across Australia.
As formally recognised groups within New Economy Network Australia Co-Op Ltd, Hubs operate with a high degree of autonomy while remaining accountable to NENA’s cooperative governance framework. They are guided by NENA’s Constitution, cooperative principles, and the Rules for NENA Hub Convenors, ensuring that all Hub activities ultimately contribute back to the cooperative’s shared mission and strategic direction.
If you are interested in starting a NENA Hub, or wish to discuss an idea for a new geographic or sectoral group, please email nena@neweconomy.org. A member of the Coordinating Hub will guide you through the formation process, share the Hub Convenor requirements, and support you to establish a strong foundation for your Hub.
