NENA ELECTED POSITIONS - AN INVITATION TO ALL MEMBERS TO CONSIDER NOMINATING

NENA was formally set up as a Cooperative in early 2019, and held its first AGM at the NENA Annual Conference in Perth in November 2019. Since that time, the volunteer Board Members, and fantastic team of supporters and volunteers have been busy setting up the foundation for governance and growth of a thriving network including geographic and sectoral hubs, a Participatory Budget Group and Strategic Development Group.

In order to support the next stage of development we would like to call for nominations for the following roles:

NENA Board of Directors

The role of a NENA Director is to oversee the strategic, financial and governance systems of NENA. The Board makes decisions about planning, resources, goals and activities of the organisation as well as working closely with the Strategic Development Group and Participatory Budget Group. If you become a Director you will be required to attend 6-8 (1 hour) Board meetings annually and actively contribute to the coordination, governance and management of the cooperative and network. This is a voluntary role with no remuneration.

For more details on the roles, responsibilities and qualifications for a Director as well as the procedure for nominations please see the NENA Election Guide 2020.

NENA Strategic Development Group (SDG)

This is an ideal role for people interested in the innovative and strategic potential for building new or wellbeing economy initiatives in a coordinated and collaborative way.

The SDG works cooperatively with the Board to prepare Strategic Plans for the co-operative and provide general advice to the Board about the co-operative’s strategic priorities. Members of the SDG are required to work together to engage members in developing an annual Civil Society Strategy for the New Economy, in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Participatory Budget Group.

If you take up a role on this group you will attend 6-8 zoom meetings a year, assist with hosting several webinars each year (to provide updates about strategic developments) and actively engage with NENA members to develop strategic plans and goals for the organisation. This is a voluntary role with no remuneration.

For more details on the roles, responsibilities and qualifications for a member of the SDG as well as the procedure for nominations please see the NENA Election Guide 2020.

Anyone with experience or wanting to develop experience in fundraising and finance would be warmly welcomed.

The PBG works cooperatively with the Board to ensure funding is raised from sources that align with the purpose and primary activities of the cooperative and provide general advice to the Board about core funding priorities for the annual budget for the cooperative, including funding to support the development of the Geographic and Sectoral Hubs.

If you take up a role on this group you will attend 6-8 zoom meetings per year and help to convene meetings of all interested NENA members several times each year via zoom to discuss NENA budget and fundraising issues. This is a voluntary role with no remuneration.
