Gender and the new economy was included in a workshop at the first Building the New Economy Conference in Sydney in 2016. Following the conference, a working group was formed to further explore the theme for the second conference in September 2017.
The group has started developing ideas for sessions for the 2017 Conference, and we’re considering ‘power, value and gender in the new economy’ as a key theme. We are interested in getting feedback from a broad range of women (and other feminist supporters) on the most relevant speakers, topics, approaches out there in the network. We can include anything from a plenary session, panel discussion, breakout session, workshop, yarning circle…..our input can take many forms. The conference is also an ‘unconference’ so there is plenty of freedom to break out of the traditional conference type approaches that focus on individual ‘experts’ sharing knowledge.
You are invited to participate and to share this email with your networks. We will be forming a Loomio discussion group online that you can join by emailing the convenor Elsie L’Huillier on firstname.lastname@example.org.
